Contemporary Fireplaces and Fire Surrounds
Our contemporary fireplace collection celebrates the beauty of refined architectural form, where clean lines, balanced proportions and carefully considered materials take centre stage. Moving away from the intricate detailing often associated with traditional period designs, these fireplaces embrace a more minimalist approach where simplicity creates impact.
A contemporary fire surround remains an important focal point within an interior, but its presence is often more understated – enhancing the character of a room through proportion, texture and material rather than ornate decoration. The result is a fireplace that feels elegant, timeless and effortlessly integrated within its surroundings.
Among our contemporary collection are modern interpretations of classic designs, including the Bolection and Blenheim fire surrounds. These enduring forms demonstrate how simplicity and architectural balance can work beautifully across a variety of interiors, from historic Georgian properties to modern townhouses and contemporary living spaces.
With contemporary fireplaces, the choice of material is fundamental to the overall design. Natural stone, marble and other carefully selected finishes each bring their own character, texture and depth to the finished piece. Our experienced team can guide you through both design and material selection to help create a fireplace that perfectly complements your interior vision.
Whether you are designing a contemporary home, updating an existing interior or specifying a fireplace for a larger architectural project, we would be delighted to discuss your requirements and help you create a beautifully considered focal point.

Thanks So Much For a Great Job
Paul and the team at English Fireplaces helped design and install two new fireplaces in our home and we are absolutely delighted with the results. It has been an absolute pleasure working with English Fireplaces throughout – they (and their installers) are helpful, professional, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would use them for any future fireplace needs!

I chose to purchase from you because you were the only company that I found that offered the “high end” style and quality that I wanted – far superior to other companies. I had a few questions and you made me feel that you could provide whatever I wanted (Love the personal approach that is so rare to find today). Ordering and delivery was a breeze. The fireplace has been installed and it looks amazing!

I found English Fireplaces on the internet and, as they were fairly local to us, we went down to see them. We had moved to a house with a very modern wood burner set in to the wall and we wanted to find a mantelpiece that would provide a surround and softening to the chimney breast. We looked round the showroom with Paul and he was very knowledgeable about the various designs and stone that we might consider. Tom came to our house and provided a design which was just what we needed. We now have a mantelpiece and slate surround which looks great and we are delighted. Working with English Fireplaces was a very satisfying experience.

What a thoroughly enjoyable process from start to finish. We found you on the internet and were thrilled you were local to us. The choice was excellent and when we described what we were looking for you were able to show us exactly what we had pictured. Very efficient communication and very quick delivery and professional installation by your recommended fitter. Thank you for everything

Technical Site Survey
To ensure every fireplace is specified and installed correctly, we offer a complimentary site survey as part of our service.
Your survey is carried out by an experienced, qualified installer who will assess the space, confirm dimensions, review installation requirements and ensure the project complies with all relevant regulations. The visit will also enable a clear installation quotation to be prepared and an opportunity to meet the specialist who would oversee the installation, giving confidence that every detail has been considered before work begins.
