We’re often asked “when are your marble fire surrounds on sale?” or “are you having a New Year marble fireplace sale?”
And the answer is we don’t ever put our hand carved fire surrounds on sale and the reason why is very simple:
We offer all our fire surrounds at great value prices all the year round.
It’s highly unlikely that you will be able find marble fire surrounds in the same marble, in the same styles or at even the same quality at the same price that we offer ours.
If you review the UK brand leaders you’ll find we’re less expensive than they are 99 times out of 100.
This obviously begs the question “are our fire surrounds carved from the same marble as the principle competitors?”
The answer is that most of the leading companies in the UK have their surrounds carved in an area of northern China called Hebei. This area has a tradition for carving marble stretching back over a thousand years. The marble used is a milky white with some grey veining and is referred to by a variety of names including: Beijing White, Fang Shen, Carrara White and Statuary. But it’s the same marble
So how are we able to offer “sale prices” all the year round?
- Firstly, we sell directly to our customers throughout the UK. We don’t have a nationwide network of retailers who have to make a profit on top of the profit that we make. This keeps prices down.
- Additionally we’re based in rural Hampshire (but delivering to cities like London every day) so we have lower operating costs.
- Finally our brochure is relatively inexpensive – we rely more on our website to display our marble surrounds.
So there are some very good reasons why we don’t have to have a marble fireplace sale in order to offer our customers great prices.
That’s not to say that we never have special offer fireplaces made up of slight seconds or discontinued products (see our Offers section).
