Sandringham House is a country house on 8,000 acres of land near the village of Sandringham in Norfolk, England. The house is privately owned by the British Royal Family and is located on the royal Sandringham Estate, which lies within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. George III (1738-1820) was King of Great Britain and King of Ireland from 25 October 1760 until the union of these two countries on 1 January 1801, after which he was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland until his death. Sienna marble is quarried around the area of Siena in western Italy. This marble has a violet vein running through it and is referred to in Italy, as the Violet marble. The violets veins make this an attractive material for making marble fireplaces. The Ionic column originated in the mid-6th century BC in Ionia, the southwestern coastland and islands of Asia Minor settled by Ionian Greeks, where an Ionian dialect was spoken..
